Privacy Policy
My Primary Homeschool Academy
Effective Date: August 25, 2026
myprimaryhomeschoolacademy.com
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how My Primary Homeschool Academy ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit myprimaryhomeschoolacademy.com or use our courses and services (collectively, the "Site"). Our Site is used by homeschooling families with young children in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. By using the Site, a parent or legal guardian agrees to the practices described in this Policy on behalf of themselves and their student(s).
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Parent/Guardian Account Information: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and login credentials for the parent or guardian who creates and manages the family account.
- Student Information: a student's first name, grade level, coursework, worksheets, video lesson activity, and progress data. Young students log in using a simple student code and PIN set up by their parent — students never create their own account, provide an email address, or enter payment information.
- AI Tutor Conversations: if a student uses our "AI Tutor" feature, the questions they ask and the responses they receive are recorded and stored so that a parent or guardian can review the full conversation history at any time from the family dashboard. These conversations are processed using a third-party AI service provider to generate responses; see Section 6 below.
- Payment Information: billing name, address, and payment card or bank details, processed securely through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
- Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interactions with the Site, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests.
3. Children's Privacy and Parental Consent (COPPA)
My Primary Homeschool Academy is designed for use by young children, most or all of whom are under the age of 13. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- A family account may only be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow a child to create their own account or provide their own contact information (such as an email address) directly to us.
- By creating a student login (a student code and PIN) for their child, a parent or guardian is providing verifiable parental consent for us to collect the limited student information described in Section 2 that is necessary for the child to use the Site's educational features.
- We collect only the information about a child that is reasonably necessary for them to participate in an educational activity offered through the Site (e.g., a first name to personalize their dashboard, their grade level to show age-appropriate curriculum, and their questions to the AI Tutor so a parent can review them). We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary.
- We do not knowingly use a child's personal information for behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly allow a child to make personal information publicly available (there are no public profiles, forums, or chat features between students on this Site).
- A parent or guardian may review the personal information we have collected from their child, request that it be deleted, or refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information, at any time, by contacting us at support@myprimaryhomeschoolacademy.com or by removing the student from their family dashboard.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Site and curriculum materials;
- Process payments and manage subscriptions;
- Communicate with parents/guardians about their account, students, or support requests;
- Track student progress within the curriculum;
- Generate AI Tutor responses to a student's questions and make those conversations available to parents;
- Send administrative or promotional communications (which you may opt out of); and
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Site.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your or your child's personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site, such as our hosting provider, our payment processor (Stripe), our database provider (Supabase), and the AI service provider that powers the AI Tutor feature — each of which is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and each of which processes information only as necessary to provide their service to us;
- Government authorities or others, when required by law, subpoena, or legal process;
- Third parties, to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Academy, our users, or the public; or
- A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your and your child's information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. A parent or guardian may request deletion of their family's account and their child's information at any time as described in Sections 3 and 9.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your or your child's personal information, or to opt out of certain communications. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@myprimaryhomeschoolacademy.com. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites or resources, such as educational videos. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage parents to review their privacy policies before allowing a child to access them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Site with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
